Yes. As a registered owner, you are liable for any citations regardless of whether or not you were using the vehicle at the time the citations were issued.

The parking program has the authority to use wheel locks (boots) on illegally parked vehicles for which there are 3 or more outstanding, unpaid, and overdue parking tickets.

Parking fine amounts vary depending on the violation. Most parking violations are $50. If not paid, within 72 hours, the penalty is $60; if not paid within 10 days, the penalty is $70.

If you fail to pay or appeal the violation within 5 days, a late fee of $10 will be applied to the violation amount. After 12 days, the late fee of $20 will be applied to the violation amount.

If you continue to ignore your obligation to pay, the Town may seek alternative forms of collection, including a collection agency, credit bureau action, or small claims court. Individuals who accumulate 3 or more unpaid citations are subject to have the vehicle immobilized (booted) or towed until full payment is made.
