One could argue that we live, or travel to the Wilmington/ Wrightsville area because we love what it provides: the beach and intercostal waterways.
It is logical to think that we as humans should develop habits that don’t infringe upon things we love. You wouldn’t spray pesticides in the house with your family still living in it just like you wouldn’t put any trash in your fish tank.
Single use disposable plastic and styrofoam products have been degrading our ocean quality for many years. At what point do we start to show some attention to our oceans?
We can start by forming a program that not only encourages, but also rewards commercial establishments to become more ocean friendly by replacing their plastic bags and styrofoam containers with viable alternatives.
