Year Round Programs for Youth & Adults

Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation offers a variety of year-round activities for youth and adults including youth cooking, tennis lessons, cotillion, summer camps, fitness classes for all levels, and more!.

If you have questions, please call us at 910-256-7925 or email us.

It is with such sadness but out of great concern for everyone's safety that the Town of Wrightsville Beach Parks and Recreation Department must cancel all of our summer camps and suspend our fitness classes until further notice.  We look forward to resuming our programming as conditions allow.
Whether or not we resume activities is dependent upon state and local restrictions as they pertain to COVID-19 as well as recommendations from the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services.   In the meantime, stay well and we hope to see you soon!

If you have any questions, please contact Katie Ryan, Recreation Program
Supervisor, via email or call 910-256-7925.

Pickleball Lessons and Open Play

Wondering what it's all about? Looking for exercise with a big dose of fun? Pickleball, part tennis, part ping-pong, and part badminton, is one of the fastest growing sports today. Pickleball is played on a badminton size court with a lowered net. It is played with a perforated plastic ball, similar to a whiffle ball, and wood or composite paddles. The game is easy to learn and requires little athletic ability. You can play at a slow level, or at a highly competitive level. Please contact the park office for current lesson dates and times.

On Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, courts are set up for open play - on the pickleball-lined tennis courts - come out and join the fun! Open play times are:

  • April - September 7:00 - 10:00 am
  • October - March 8:00 - 11:00 am
Pickleball nets are available for use at other days and times through the park office at no charge to Wrightsville Beach Residents, and $5/day  or $10/weekend for Non-Residents.
