Mission Statement
|
| The Wrightsville Beach
Police Department, as part of, and empowered by the community is
committed to protecting the lives, property and rights of all people.
To reduce the incidence of crime, maintain order, and to enforce
the law impartially, while working with the community to improve
their quality of life. Our mandate is to do so with honor and integrity,
while at all times conducting ourselves with the highest ethical
standards to maintain public confidence. |
| We, the Wrightsville Beach
Police Department, are committed to providing the highest quality
of police services to the people who live, work and visit our town.
We will constantly evaluate and improve our efforts to enhance public
safety with the goal of improving the quality of life within Wrightsville
Beach, while at the same time maintaining respect for individual
rights and human dignity. |
| The Wrightsville Beach
Police Department welcomes you to Wrightsville Beach. We hope that
you enjoy yourself while in our town, regardless of whether you
are a resident property owner, a non-resident property owner or
a visitor to our community. Our approach to law enforcement is to
work with the public in maintaining a high standard for our quality
of life. While our goal is for everyone to enjoy Wrightsville Beach,
we hope that enjoyment does not come at the expense of others. |
| Our Department is made
up of 23 full-time paid officers, and 8 reserve
officers. All officers, both full-time and reserve, complete Basic
Law Enforcement Training consisting of 602 hours of classroom and
practicum instruction. In addition, our officers are required to
continue training throughout their careers, completing a minimum
of 24 hours of in-service instruction annually. This level of training
and certification insures that the community and its visitors have
amply qualified individuals responding to their calls for service. |
| We
hope that you will assist us in our efforts to maintain the quality
of life within the community by not only obeying the law and respecting
the rights of others, but also by letting us know when you observe
someone who is not doing the same. It takes more than law enforcement
presence to maintain a high quality of life. It takes community
assistance and interaction. Please call or e-mail us with your questions
and comments regarding Wrightsville Beach law enforcement. And,
by all means, call us if we can assist you. We really do want to
make everyone's experience in Wrightsville Beach a more pleasant
one. Thanks for your assistance in that effort. |
